Laura Fisher (Parker)

PARKER, Laura Fisher, formerly of Tullahoma, passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2014. Laura was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She shared a beautiful smile with everyone and was known for her infectious laugh. Laura relocated from Orlando, Florida, to the Knoxville area in 1996 where she was blessed to see her daughter grow into an accomplished young woman and current nursing student. She was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church. Laura lived her childhood years in Tullahoma, Tennessee, graduating from Tullahoma High School in 1982. She was baptized into the Christian faith at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Tullahoma. Laura received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Queens University, Charlotte, North Carolina. At Queens University she was a member of the Theta Gamma Chapter of Chi Omega and was elected outstanding nursing student by the faculty and students of her graduating class. Laura established her career nursing in Orlando, Florida. where she pursued her passion of helping others. She made many wonderful friends in Orlando, where she started her own family and worked at the Orlando Heart Center and other area hospitals. During her time in Orlando she was a member of the Orlando Downtown Baptist Church, where she was a volunteer for the youth ministry program. She was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her father, Charles Hugh Fisher; daughter, Emily Clare Parker; brother, Charles Hugh Fisher, Jr. (Tracee Schell), and children, Hannah Marie, John Michael, and Samuel Hugh. A celebration of life will be held at a place and time to be announced.
