Welcome to the Tullahoma High School Message Forum.

THS Class of 1982!  40th Reunion is scheduled!

You are invited and please share the news with any classmates you know!!!
Personal invites will not be sent out in an effort to reduce cost.

Our 40 Year Class Reunion is confirmed for Saturday, October 1st from 6:00 PM until midnight. The reunion will be held at the Sundrop Shoppe’s new outdoor patio in downtown Tullahoma--block of 217 NW Atlantic St, Tullahoma, TN 37388. The committee is still finalizing details. The feedback we received was for a simple, scaled down reunion where everyone feels welcome. We felt the downtown venue would work best for everyone.

A Venmo account (@THS1982) has been established to accept donations--and eventually payments--so we can rent the venue, purchase event insurance, rent a large tent, chairs, tables and provide a down payment for food, beverages and music. Please Venmo your donations to our reunion account @THS1982 or donate through this website (top right of this page). Venmo is preferred as this website takes a larger transaction fee out of your donation amount. Be advised:  you must have Venmo account to use Venmo to make a payment.

We already have almost $500 in costs just to reserve venue and purchase insurance. Admission cost the  night of reunion will depend on amount of expenses we still need to cover.

Give your suggestions for our 30 year reunion in 2012; Where? When? What has worked for other reunions? What has not worked for other reunions? Let us know what you think...

Greetings To All:

I certainly am looking forward to our next reunion. As others have commented, where has 30 years gone! Life flies by at break neck speed and if you're not paying attention...well you know the rest. I enjoyed the last reunion at the country club in Tullahoma; I am thus in favor of having our next one there as well. I also liked having it during the summer, as especially for those of us in academics, it is more convenient to fit it into a busy schedule.

I hope that we can all work together to find our classmates that have not posted any info on this web site. Occassionally, I think of some old friend and become curious as to their whereabouts. It's nice to be able to look them up and learn something about their lives over the past 3 decades.

I hope everyone is having a great life and see you all in 2 years!

Hello everyone. I am shocked it has been 30 years because I am only 35 years old. I am excited as well about getting to see everyone. The Country Club works well and now we have an events center that is big enough to hold the event. It is next to the old post office. Alot of classes are have three years together which seems to work for example 80'-82. Helps with money and support. I am fine with whatever we decide. Everyone take care.

Reunion 2012:  This should really be the best reunion ever – since the world is going to end a few months later!

I agree with Jamie, the Country Club would be a fine place to have it.  Several venues, like the Legion, have gone out of business over the last few years.

Looking at the calendar and considering those of us who don’t have summers off, July 4th is on a Wednesday next year.  If we have the reunion July 6th or 7th, it might be easy for people to string together 2 extra vacation days and make it a long travel weekend.  People who drive will have a little extra time.  Hopefully, this time would not interfere with school schedules ether.

My best wishes to everyone!  Please be safe this year and hope to see you soon!

Collin

30 Year Class Reunion-

I would like to see a couple of events.  The Country Club sounds fine to me.  Since I have no idea what is still in Tullahoma, not sure I can even be of any help there.

I would love some sort of family event for those who drag their family with them.  (Something casual at a park maybe)  Of course, an outdoor event would only work certain times of year.  If it were in the fall, going to a home football game would work too.   Something super casual that was family friendly and not a huge amount of extra work for the planning/ organizing group.

And last, at my sisters 30 year they had a memorial service/ event to honor those classmates we have lost.  It would be nice if we did something like that.

I was thinking along the same lines with Jamie and Collin and the reunion being held the week/weekend of July 4, 2012. We don't need to have it ON the 4th but a July 6 or 7 reunion on the following Friday or Saturday would work nice for me.

The date of Saturday, July 7, might also provide an opportunity for a casual "family" afternoon gathering that has also been mentioned--possibly the Rec Area at AEDC???  One thing to consider about the Rec Area, security has gotten VERY tight at AEDC and we might not even be able to do that.

I am partial to the Country Club simply because it's established and we know what to expect.  This new location might be just as good or better.  Hopefully, we can get some feedback on it as well. Plus the cost of each venue will also need to be considered.

I hope we can have a great turnout.  I look forward to seeing everyone!

Mike

HI Everyone,

I think that July is a great time to have it. The Country Club sounds good as well. I liked Linda's idea of a family gathering or a memorial service. Maybe we can incorporate a moment within the reunion so that we can have someone read everyone that we have lost and have a moment of silence. I have not lived in Tullahoma since graduating from Motlow and going into the military but I can ask my Dad who is still there too :). I am really looking forward to the next reunion because I did not get to come to the others due to military obligations. I can't wait to see you all, and I hope all of you are doing well.

Hey everyone!! It will be so nice to see everyone that we are on Facebook with and of course those that are not of that we just haven't found yet!  I haven't missed a Class Reunion and nowadays I am learning that "Different is good!" and I ain't talking about Taco Bell. LOL I have seen pictures of a few of the events held at the new event center.  It seems to be really nice and organized PLUS hello it is right next door to SUNDROP on the other side!!!  I have a friend that works at Sundrop and what would a reunion be without the drink we were and are addicted too haha.  I can check on the cost and the availability.  It is always so dark at the Country Club.

I know that the Class of 79 has a cookout at Frazier McEwen and then they walk the Greenway around to the front of the school where there is a Memorial Area that was built by a Boy Scout for his Eagle Project.  It has a podium and some seating.  I still live here in Tullahoma and both of our sons graduated from THS haha.  When we moved back from Estill Springs after 18 years I asked the phone company when we got our phone if we could have a 455- prefix and we got one! There is No Place Like Home :o)

So whenever or wherever the reunion is I plan on being there!  Hey Mike, Stan, Mike and Patrick if you need any help Count Me In.  Isn't it amazing how with each passing year we think more about when we were younger and try even harder to re-connect with our friends we grew up with.

I am LQQKing forward to seeing all of you at the reunion and hey I can even secure a photographer for the group picture that is very reasonable!!! I work for one haha.

Talk to you soon and guys thanks for all your hard work in keeping this sight up and going.

Carrie :o)

I beleive it would be a good thing to have it in the summer so that maybe more people will come in and spend a few days visiting with their families. i agree that we use either the country club or the events center they are doing alot of wedding receptions and reunions and so forth there.

I also like the idea of the picnic on saturday afternoon we could always see about one of the pavillions at Tims Ford State Park.

I will be willing to help in any way that i can now that i am traveling back and forth between tullahoma and murfreesboro, just let me know what you need stan and mike.

30 YEARS???? REALLY???  I CAN'T BELIEVE IT WENT BY SO QUICK.  MY OPINION FOR REUNION - COUNTRY CLUB FOR THE MAIN EVENT SINCE WE ARE ALL FAMILIAR WITH IT.  I WOULD LOVE TO DO A FAMILY EVENT SO I COULD SHOW OFF MY PRECIOUS DAUGHTERS AND HUSBAND.  THE REC AREA SHOULD BE EASIER TO GET IT SOMEONE FROM OUR CLASS WORKS AT THE CENTER.  ALSO A NIGHT BEFORE PARTY DOWNTOWN TULLAHOMA IS A MUST.  (DADDY BILLYS, FAST JACKS AND LONDONS)

REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE REUNION.  HOW DID THIS HAPPEN - I'M ONLY 21 YEARS OLD???

Hello Everyone! We are in the beginning stages of planning our 30 year class reunion for 2012. It is hard to believe we have been out of high school for 30 years!  We have received several suggestions and the class officers will be making a decison on the date and place in the next few weeks. Please e-mail your suggestions to our class website and we will make every effort to accomodate the majority.

It will be great to see all of you and we have some neat events in mind for all of you. Please send us your thoughts.....we really want to make our 30 year reunion a special event! Also, Mike Morrow has done an awesome job of setting up and monitoring our "Class of 1982" website and I want to personally recognize Mike for his efforts!

Please help us locate our classmates who we have not heard from. Continue to monitor our website for more details! I'm really looking forward to seeing you all in 2012.

Take Care!

Stan Welch

Just a suggestion I'm throwing on the table.  Why not have it around the time of Homecoming and have a Sadie Hawkins Dance.  It'll be in the fall, cooler weather, more pleasant to be outdoors and everyone not sweating like pigs, melting makeup and pit stained shirts.  :):    And kudos to Mike for a great job of this sight..

It appears I will miss our 30 yr reunion, for the same reason I missed the 20 - another deployment to Asia this spring. I hope each and every one of you have a great time and have a blast re-connecting.

I recommend our class officers spring for the first round ;-)

if your looking for some of the "missing" alumni from our class, why dont you try looking on facebook? when i looked on the missing list, the majority of the people on are in tullahoma! maybe even try the phone book? at least 1 or 2 people on the list work at the utility board and if you pay your light bill at the window, you'll see them face to face.

Hey looking forward to seeing everybody. I agree with Carrie that we should have it at The Tullahoma Events Center. It is right there by the old post office. If I remember correctly after it was over a lot of us went to the square anyway so why not just start there anyway. Also the class of '81 had theirs at George Dickle and they had a great time there.

July or Fall date would be fine but July would likely attract more classmates and families living farther away.  Country Club would be good choice for any kind of formal event.  If we want to have an informal, "family day" where all our kids could participate we might consider something at Tims Ford -- peraps at the State Park.  Many of us coming in from out of town will likely need lodging so we could get cabins there.  Several class members probably have boats and others of us could rent them and we could spend a day on the lake tubing, wake boarding, hanging and listening to tunes and sippin' adult beverages.

Also, might consider some kind of a fun event(s) that could also raise money for some kind of local charity.  Perhaps a morning golf tournament or morning, class-sponsored fishing tournament at Tims Ford State Park with money raised going so some good cause in Tullahoma -- ideally one somehow linked to the schools/education.

I have heard from others living in Tullahoma that they like it when a class holding a reunion organizes and publicizes some kind of an event that also provides an opportunity for friends from classes immediately behind and immediately ahead to see friends from "days gone by."  Naturally, focus on any of these events should be the FUN -- not serious competition.  Should award prizes for shortest tee shot, ugliest golf hat, smallest fish, etc..  A golf tournament, 3-4 hour fishing tournament and time on the lake would be good opportunities for them and for others to spend time with us and vice versa.  These also might be good ways for our teachers/principals/other community members to get some time with us and with our families.

Appreciate everything our class leaders and others living back in Tullahoma will be putting forth to make the reunion a great event.  Wish I was there to contribute, myself, but really look forward to participating in anything put together.

Go Cats!  Andy

Just wanted to post a quick note and say hey to everyone. I wish i could have gotten to the reunion sooner and had been able to spend more time visiting and catching up. Just seeing the familiar smiles and laughing when I had to tell a few who I was shall be a memory I will cherish from now on. Thanks!
